Dave Henriksen

David C. Henriksen, 72, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Peaceful and Comfort Assisted Living in Mesa. 

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2020, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Don Knowles officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Vietnam Veterans of America Quad Cities Chapter 299 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Dave’s memory. 

David Charles Henriksen was born April 1, 1948, in Moline, the son of John and Doris (Boyungs) Henriksen. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Deere & Company for 24 years, retiring in 2003.  

He had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Moline. He enjoyed golfing and reading. 
David is survived by two children, Elisabeth “Lisa” (Jared) Thompson of Mesa, and Gregory Henriksen of Colona, Illinois; grandchildren, Cody Northcutt, Ashley, Karissa, Alexander and Atticus Henriksen, Wyat and Isabelle Thompson; siblings, Eric (Sandra) Henriksen of New Berlin, Wisconsin, John Mark (Joan) Henriksen of Galena, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rest in peace, Dave. You were one of my first loves who also became a good friend in high school. You reached out to me several years ago, but I can't remember if I answered. I hope I did but, if so, it was probably many months or even years later. I am sorry for that. I hope you had a good life.
