Jerry Rounds

Gerald L. “Jerry” Rounds, 72, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at his residence. 

 Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Estates, Moline.  Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Jerry was born October 29, 1947, in Moline, the son of Albert F. and Betty J. (Shuda) Rounds. He married Paulette Ihde on October 29, 1993. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2007.

He was employed and retired from John Deere Harvester as a Production Welder for 30 years. Jerry was a member of the East End Club, lifetime member of the Friends Circle Club and MHS Class of ’66 graduate. He enjoyed fishing, camping with his late wife, Paulette and snowplowing using his Chevy truck. Jerry loved following University of Illinois Sports, building computers and was an amateur radio operator – N9EHP.

He is survived by his only child, daughter, Tamara Rounds McDaniel; grandsons, Bruce Rounds and Devin McDaniel; brother, James “Jim” and Sue Rounds, Colona; 2 nieces and nephew; near and dear friends, Cindy McClarin, Kevin Streeter and Ryan Hawk. He will always be known for his sense of humor and genuine love for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette, son, Brian Lee Rounds, father, Albert, mother, Betty and step-father, Cyrial Van Bruwaene.
