Frank Stablein

 

Frank Stablein Jr., 64, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his residence.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
Frank was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Moline, the son of Frank S. Sr. and Shirley Hansen Stablein.
He worked at Great Dane Trailer for 15 years.|

Frank was a fun-loving man and liked to socialize with his friends, especially those at Sanders Apartments. He loved sports, especially baseball and the Chicago Cubs. He liked to socialize with friends, who called him "crazy Frank," and was known as the "Great Santini." He also enjoyed Neil Diamond and Dean Martin.

Surviving are his sons, Jeff Stablein, Calif., and Otto Stablein, Kewanee; mother, Shirley Phillips, Milan; granddaughter, Sofia Stablein, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maye Talbot, Kewanee, Sharon and Jack Olds, Rock Island, Julie and Larry Neels, Kewanee, Margie and Chris Wagner, Chicago, Sue Dalton, Rock Island, and Joann Stribling, Moline; stepbrothers, Jim, Jerry and John Cross; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sr.; and brothers, Bob and Bill.
